Description

Lavender Munstead Dwarf is a perennial medicinal herb, with mauve flowers and a greener softer leaf. It is very popular for hedging, and enhances any flower or herb planting.

Sow direct in spring or late summer. The seed should be barely covered in soil and watered in dry weather. Thin out and grow on before transplanting to its final position in the second year. Or sow in early autumn in a seed tray or small pots. Do not cover the seed but cover the tray with glass until germination occurs. Prick out when large enough and grow on in small pots.

Plant in full sun in well drained soil. Harvest the flowering stems when flowers are fully open and the sun is not too hot. Dry by tying in small bunches and hanging in an airing cupboard or other warm, dark place. Strip the flowers from the stems when dry and store in airtight jars in dark.
